Cathrine Wessel 18 page story for Conde Nast Traveler

This travel and fashion article had an accompanying story by Raphael Kadushin entitled “The Magic of the Medina.” Fashion Editor: Tiffany Gifford. Photo Editors: Kathleen Klech and Esin Goknar.

Cathrine says that to uncover the secrets of Marrakech, you should rise before sunset and then walk the streets all day observing the life within the walls of the Medina. As the day turns, shadows and dust change the light in mystical ways. If you end up at the big Djemaa El Fna Square, you can hear the sounds of the street musicians, the calling of the fortune tellers, the snake handlers’ flutes, and the prayers from the mosque. Together, they all blend together at sunset creating a perfect rhythm for a curious photographer.
